i just installed a new gpu the gt 8400 gs and i wanted dual monitors but i found out when i boot the computer it would load the windows logo and then it loads a black screen for the login screen in windows which i cant see anything. there is hard drive activity that is still going on which i think is normal. i tested the computer without the graphics card and then the computer was fine but then as i tried to do it a couple more times to try and fix the graphics card the screen keeps going black after the windows logo with or without the graphics card. Keep in mind i can still access the bios and boot menu and i did try to boot into safe mode (all of those options networking cmd ect..) with and without the graphics card and the display still stays black after the logo. Also in safe mode the drivers would load but id still be hanging around the screen with all the text that says its loaded. so basically all i want to do is get into the desktop and be able to see my login screen. i also tried resetting the bios or loading its optimized defaults and that doesnt work i also tried to do a check disk using a sata to usb cable to my other computer to see and there was no errors. also i dont have a disc for xp anymore ...so yea and wiping out the whole computer for me is not an option because i need all the data in there that was stored. I also know when im in the login screen for windows because the num lock light on the keyboard lights up after loading everything but that is without safe mode. i also tried vga mode that didnt work either i am very sorry that if there is little to no option but i really need help on this
