(I've copied and pasted this from another forum as I've waited 24 hours and nobody can give me an answer, hopefully the pro's here can help me out)

So about 90 percent of the time, I get this weird noise coming from my powersupply, I can only hear it when the PC is turned off so I don't actually know if it's happening when the PC is turned on because my PC is far too loud to hear it. It's like a really quiet electircal noise, like a low kind of hum, I can only hear it if I've got my ear close to the PSU.

I'm not sure if it's always been like this because I only noticed it today while installing SSD's into my PC, should I be concerned? The build is fairly new like 2 months, and the PSU is EVGA G2 so the quality should be fine...I'm thinking maybe a capacitor? I don't have a clue.

Solution
It's coil whine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP73edpQwgc
Go int teh Bios and enable "ErP" under power management settins. This will make the PSU shut down completely and you will only be able to start it from the power button as PME event wake up, power on by mouse, power on by keyboard and wake on LAN will get disabled.
But it should stop making any noise.
