My current overclock:
Core: 125 BCLKx37=4.625GHz
Uncore: 125 BCLKx33=4.125 GHZ
RAM: 125 BCLKx26=3.250GHz
FCLK: 125 BCLKx10=1.250Ghz
Voltage:
in UEFI-1.395v
in Windows-1.408v
under 100% load-1.424v
LLC:LVL 6

Is this a decent overclock for Skylake or or this average? Temps are around 80C under load. Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Mine is at 4.6 but slightly lower voltage, not 100% sure what it is (Just got the new bios a week or so ago and I'm still playing with settings Z170 Sabertooth), mine tops out at 78C during stress tests, but for the most part stays below 70C. Under 80C isn't bad, I think it's a little high personally, but that may be just me, cause that's during stress, so during normal use it's not gonna get anywhere near that. Mine seems to hover in the 52/54 area when I'm gaming, which is fine by me. If I remember right, you're right about at the highest safe voltage... May be off on that though, the old memory isn't what it used to be.

While gaming, I see temps at about the 46C-55C area. Idle temps are 26C-28C. I know that the max preferred voltage is 1.35v, so 1.4v is pushing the envelope a little. I've read that voltage up to 1.52v is considered "safe" according to Intel datasheets, but I'm not doing that again, lol. I forgot to mention that this chip has not been dellided, if that makes any difference. It also overclocks to 4.4GHz @ 1.256v, 4.5Ghz @ 1.280v, and 4.6GHz @ 1.370v.

It's all about safe temps man. From the sounds of it, you're fine where you're at, maybe a little room to play, but ya, thems voltages can get outta hand quick if you're not paying attention. When I first updated my bios to the most recent one, I forgot all my changes wouldn't be there and I'd have to overclock again, and it actually got hotter for the same settings, I really had to crank the voltages down to get it reliable and fairly decent voltages with fairly decent overclocks.

Yeah man, the new 2202 BIOS is kinda wonky. 4.7GHz needed 1.46v (79C load) and 4.8GHz needed 1.510v (83C load) , so yeah....out of hand fast. Then there's the whole diminishing returns bit and how far the chip will scale with certain voltages. Temps could be better, but 75C is the average, with 80C on the hottest core @ 100% load for an hour.

Im using a asus z170-p and a 6600k, I found that trying to get to 4.6ghz required the same voltage as you, but then I tried auto voltage and auto LLC just for fun, I was surprised to see that 30 runs intel burn test the max voltage only went to 1.338! which was much better then me putting manual voltages in, and i keep all the power saving on so as im typing this im not even hiting 1.0v lol, highest spike I have seen is 1.38v which isnt bad give it a shot you might be surprised.

I went back to 4.6GHz core/cache @ 1.35v adaptive, +0.020 offset(1.37v, total), LLC 5. Highest temp is 70 degrees C, average 67 degrees C. Totally not worth the extra .25MHz, considering the extra heat.
