Hi, I am using Thermaltake Toughpower Gold 750w modular psu my for my pc. But last night psu fried while I was gaming. First my pc power off itself, then I try to start the pc and there is a sound and smoke out of my psu. Also burning smell. It fried itself.

My system:
i5-6600k
sapphire nitro R9 390
gigabyte Z170 gaming 3
16GB DDR4 2400Mhz(8x2)

I am using this pc for 4 month. What can possibly burn it?

DPS Gold series are rated for 120.000 work hours while Gold series is rated for 100.000 work hours. That's the visible difference between the two.

As far as the main difference go, DPS-G series is rated as Tier two PSU, while the DPS-G RGB 1250W PSU is rated as Tier one PSU.
The PSU Tier list isn't composed by the looks of the PSUs. All PSUs are researched by reading professional, unbiased reviews with the correct testing equipment.

I forgot to tell you one thing, that psu fried is new one as a replacement of warranty. My original psu died 2 weeks ago and i got a new one, and its dead too.

My dealer will give me a 3rd one, same model. If 3rd one fail, then they will change to new model but in thermaltake brand. They have only thermaltake. No other and they will not refund.

It is too bad. Now I feel it. There are corsair, antec, coolermaster and gigabyte power supply but thermaltake distributor dont work with other brand distributor.

But toughpower DPS fan exhaust is upper side directly to GPU. Is there that much quality difference between toughpower gold and DPS G series? They are most likely same to me.
