I have a TP-Link 300mbps N usb adapter but it disconnects from my wifi occasionaly and takes about 5 minutes for it to reconnect. When it disconnects, it says that there are no networks available even when my wifi and neighbours wifi is on. Sometimes it will try to connect but it will say that it can't connect to the network. It is very frustrating and I was thinking of getting a PCI Express wireless receiver, would getting a pci express receiver fix this problem.

I'm thinking of getting a D-Link 300mbps wireless receiver.

Fix the problem ? Not necessarily. And I say that, respectfully, only because the problem is not yet clearly identified.

Could be that the intended wireless network signal is weak or experiencing interference with regards to your location.

Are you in an apartment building or dorm? Or somewhere else with lots of other wireless networks about?

Try other channels in your frequency. Switch to the other frequency. And again other channels therein.

Try using a USB extension cable to move the USB adapter up and about. Double check the adapter's configuration. Try manual settings versus "auto negotiate" or vice versa as warranted.

See if other people have the same problem with their devices when they attempt to connect to the same...

Try to narrow things down somewhat. Swapping hardware may work if that is convenient and affordable to do. However, I would recommend doing some additional troubleshooting and testing beforehand.
