I bought a prebuilt gaming PC to play newer games easily. It works well but I would like to add some more power to it. My current motherboard is a Gigabyte 760G AM3+ Micro ATX and was wondering if this would struggle with a new CPU(FX-8350) and a new GPU(EVGA GTX 1060 3GB)? If it won't work I can buy a new one but I wanted to know if it was necessary for me to spend an extra $100 for a new motherboard. If you have any suggestions for one that would be nice, preferably one in DDR3 so I don't have to buy new RAM too. It currently has an AMD FX-6300, a Zotac 750ti 1gb, 16gb of G-Skill RipjawsX DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, and a Thermaltake 500w PSU in a Thermaltake Versa N21 Mid-Tower case.

Solution
prebuilt gaming PC

What PC case does it use? A mini-tower only fits micro-ATX size motherboards, while a mid-tower can fit a larger size ATX form factor.

Gigabyte 760G chipset models are low-end motherboards. It may or may not support the FX-8350. You never do identify what motherboard it has or what PC you have.

Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P has:
• 8+2 phase CPU VRM power design for AMD high-TDP CPU support.
• ATX Form Factor; 30.5cm x 24.4cm
