What should i buy to make a decent minecraft pc

Hello, my brother gave me his old old pc and i was wondering what i should upgrade to make it run minecraft at atleast 60 fps constant. here are the specs:

i dont really know much about what is best to buy but i only have $50 plus its a old pc so nothing new can really run it. but i do know that minecraft is a ram based game and this pc only has one gb of ddr2 ram and its slow but doesnt GPUS come with ram? so would it be smart to buy a GPU i dont know please help C:

In that case, I'd upgrade first to 4GB of RAM.

G.SKILL has a great 4GB kit for only $40: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231207

This will work with your computer, so long as you have a 32 or 64 bit operating system.

But I'd like to make it clear that, while this is a good start, you may not be able to run Minecraft at 60FPS without upgrading something else in your system.

Minecraft can be a fickle game, and while sometimes it's easy to run the nuances of your system can cause for an unpleasant experience.

Since you've never played it on this system, it's hard to say whether or not you will be fine running it as is - but my guess is the minimum...

The Mojang help page outlines the Minecraft system requirements as the following...

Minimum Requirements:
CPU: Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
RAM: 2GB
GPU (Integrated): Intel HD Graphics or AMD (formerly ATI) Radeon HD Graphics with OpenGL 2.1
GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT or AMD Radeon HD 2400 with OpenGL 3.1
HDD: At least 200MB for Game Core and Other Files
Java 6 Release 45

Recommended Requirements:
CPU: Intel Core i3 or AMD Athlon II (K10) 2.8 GHz
RAM: 4GB
GPU: GeForce 2xx Series or AMD Radeon HD 5xxx Series (Excluding Integrated Chipsets) with OpenGL 3.3
HDD: 1GB
Latest release of Java 8 from java.com

Your PC fails on almost all of the minimum requirements, the exceptions being the GPU, while it fails on all recommended requirements (except hard drive space, of course). I'd upgrade your parts at least to reach the minimum requirements which means you're looking at a new CPU (and therefor new integrated graphics) and new ram.

I can recommend some parts, but first it's important for me to know your limitations (aka your budget).

And we are back to RAM. Not much else to get unless you stalk around on ebay looking for stuff that isn't selling (and that might be where you have to get ram in the first place). Might be possible to pick up a slightly faster CPU for a few bucks, but nothing significant.

Since you've never played it on this system, it's hard to say whether or not you will be fine running it as is - but my guess is the minimum requirements are a good reflection of what hardware you need to run the game. So, once you upgrade the ram, start saving up for a new CPU and MB.
