I'm looking for a solution to my home security needs. What I'd like is a high definition camera that can zoom in and maintain a high resolution. I'd like to be able to view the video remotely and even control the camera's zoom and tilt remotely, if possible.

Because it's part of my home security, I'd like it to be easy to hide. Also, I'd like to be able to decide whether to save or delete the video. If it is to be saved, I'd like to download via the LAN to my desktop.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks,

Personally, I'm not a fan of WiFi security cameras. Why increase the attack surface (the WiFi) on a security system?

I have a 4 cam system with dedicated DVR. And can add 4 more cams when I get around to it. PTZ or fixed.
All wired. It was about $200.

High res cameras for this use costs $$$.

Disregarding manufacturers numbers and marketing, I like to look at the actual use case.
'How far away can you read a license plate?'

On my standard low grade system, that number is about 17 feet.
Farther out, and the costs start to rise. A lot.

The product you describe is not consumer grade.
Which means it is extremely expensive...

Google HD PTZ IP camera, that is what you want, well you really want FHD or UHD, but HD is probably good enough for search purposes.

PTZ is for Pan Tilt and Zoom.

This puts you in the $500 category though...
