Keep i3-2100 or get G-4400?

Hi,
I'm currently having i3-2100 on an Intel DH67CL Board with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 256GB Samsung 840 EVO + additional hard disks.

I'm thinking of getting a GTX 1060 (3GB) currently listed at $189. I recently read a review of G4400 being too good for gaming under budget (http://www.legitreviews.com/intel-pentium-g4400-processor-review-skylake_179724).

The obvious question is, will my current i3-2100 bottleneck the 1060 more than G4400. If so, Is it worth the extra $60 to spend on the processor or will it be better if spend that money on GPU?

A small comparison - http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-G4400-vs-Intel-Core-i3-2100.

BTW, I would be upgrading the RAM from 4GB to 16GB :) As no recent games can be played with 4Gb now :)

I'm not a hardcore gamer. I will just play the popular FPS game titles and sell the card usually.

Thanks,
Bharath

You might even get a cheap second hand i7 2600, should not be more expensive than an i5 and should be a perfect pairing with a gtx 1060. :)
Be aware that the G4400 uses a different socket and will require a new motherboard and RAM. It's not simply a matter of changing your CPU.

If you find your i3 is not allowing the performance you'd like, it would be far easier to drop in a socket 1155 Core i5 or i7 than to change your motherboard out to get a Skylake Pentium.

Keep the i3.
Not worth getting the Pentium as it does not have hyper threading technology.
Future games will benefit from more core/threads.
No reason to get the G4400.
As said above^ it will also cost you a new motherboard since it requires different socket.

Wow, not sure why didn't I think of a) the motherboard factor and b) getting an used i5.
Thanks for the reply mate. The solution seems pretty simple and straight forward, but i guess i got psyched after reading the reviews about G4400... May be for people who are building new budget gaming PCs can make use of the G4400 :)

Thanks for your reply buddy. Though not sure about HT technology, I'm now pretty confident that the upgrade is not worth the $60 + $75 :) I will get an used i5 instead ; 4 cores will definitely be of help :)
