I have been a semi casual gamer, my first console was the NES with two games, super mario and bayou bily. The following was the Nintendo 64 with Starfox and several years of videogame rentals. I moved to the pc, mostly strategy games like AOE 2, then return to consoles, the play station, already old, but the games were very cheap (pirates) this was good because my parents never liked video games. Then I return to the pc for some years. In the University and with a stable work, I buy a PS3 and could buy and rent games, had a laptop but I never liked playing on it. Then i get the PS4 day one (one of the worst purchases in my life, really) I realized the scam, few games, high prices and not very resistant console. It fail me in only 13 months, the psu exploted, but i could fix it. A year ago with very little use, one day the ps4 didnt want to start, and I get tired. I decided to give up with the consoles. Unfortunately at the time I started a business and failed. I lost my savings, but stay out of debt. So I decided to return to the glorious pc. But I am raising money again to start a business, because of this situations, I can not buy a top of the line pc, so I decided to grab pieces where I could and improve my pc slowly (6 months)These are the components I have now.
CPU. Amd Phenom II 1055T 2.8ghz
RAM. Ddr3 Adata 4GB 1600mhz + 4GB kingston 1333mhz.
HDD. 1tb seagat 7200rpm.
MOB. GA-M68MT-S2P (rev. 3.1)
GPU. GV-R736OC-2GD (rev. 2.0)
PSU. Seasonic S12II-430 (Mob + gpu + 1 fan) + generic PSU 450watts (HDD + 5 fans).
CASE. Mod cheap generic case.
Display. Lg tv lcd 40 3d and 19 acer lcd monitor 60hz.
Others. Dell keyboard, Redragon M601, Evo 212, mousepad steelseries Qck mass, sony goldheadset.

I want to buy in order of priority. 1.A better GPU, 2 an Intel CPU and a motherboard, 3 a sdd, 4 8gb of equal ram, 5 144hz monitor, 6 mechanical keyboard, 7 headphones, 8 Case. I would like to give me some advice on how to keep improving my pc and what to buy next, because I'm outdated and you're the experts . An apology for my bad English, I live in México. Thank you

if u plan to change the cpu/mobo, u have to get compatible ram as well...and a gud quality psu to sustain it for long...
its a gud idea to wait and accumulate some money if ur existing setup is still working...
infact intel and amd are both coming up with their kabylake and zen lineups...another 3-4 months, and u can get options of better processors to choose from...

I had originally thought to build a pc, but in phases, improving my system 1 by 1 in a period of 6 months, my budget is like $500, for the gpu, cpu and mob. In reddit they reccomend me to wait and build a complete pc. I'm thinking of doing what they recommended, since I'm a little rusty(I have not had a desktop PC in 5 years), but only with those 3 parts (gpu, cpu and mob) and keep the psu, memory, hdd and case for longer. Any advise?

SSD would give you the most noticable upgrade in normal use. Even on a an old phenom II, it will make it a lot faster and more responsive on boot up and opening programs in windows.

Then GPU for gaming, something like a GTX 1050 ti when they come out would be a good match, or on the used market a 960.
