I have a dual monitor setup and just recently built a new computer. I'm trying to hook up both monitors but my g card only has one VGA port. I try to plug my other monitor into the VGA port on the motherboard and it doesn't register that it's there. I try the dvi port... Still nothing. Help please

Your GPU has: DVI-I, Display Port and 2x HDMI ports.

For connecting both monitors to your GPU there are many ways. Pick your favourite:
Way 1
1st VGA monitor: use VGA to HDMI adapter and connect it to 1st HDMI port.
2nd VGA monitor: use VGA to HDMI adapter and connect it to 2nd HDMI port.

Way 2
1st VGA monitor: use VGA to DVI-I adapter and connect it to DVI-I port.
2nd VGA monitor: use VGA to HDMI adapter and connect it to HDMI port.

Way 3
1st VGA monitor: use VGA to Display Port adapter and connect it to Display port.
2nd VGA monitor: use VGA to HDMI adapter and connect it to HDMI port.

Way 4
1st VGA monitor: use VGA to DVI-I adapter and connect it to DVI-I port.
2nd VGA monitor: use VGA to Display Port adapter and connect it to...

The motherboard is a GIGABYTE Z170 MX-GAMING 5 LGA 1151

The CPU is an INTEL® CORE™ I5-6500

I'm assuming you also need the g card so that is a GIGABYTE 75TOC-2GL GTX750TI 2GB DDR5 Low Profile

Sorry for the late reply. I've gotten to the BIOS menu and done what youve said and it still doesn't work. Am I missing something?

The exact model number/name on the box is GV-N75TOC-2GL Nvidia GT X 750 Ti/REV 1.0 PCI-E 3.0/2GB GDDR5/128 bit DVI/HDMI*2/DisplayPort

Hope this helps

Don't know if I'm missing something or its a typo but I connected one monitor to the g card vie dvi-d. The other monitor I tried to connect to the motherboard vie both dvi-d and d-sub ports and neither work.

Note: when you have dedicated GPU installed, your MoBo display ports won't work until you remove your dedicated GPU.

Another note: don't use any DVI-D ports since VGA monitors use analog signal and DVI-D ports don't carry analog signal in them.
