Hi there!

I'm very new to this PC building thing (been using Mac since forever), and just got my 1st PC built a few days ago.

This is my system:

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i7 6700 @ 3.40GHz 58 °C
Skylake 14nm Technology
RAM
32.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1066MHz (16-16-16-36)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. G1.SNIPER B7-CF (U3E1) 34 °C
Graphics
LG ULTRAWIDE (2560x1080@60Hz)
Cintiq 21UX 2 (1600x1200@60Hz)
2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (NVIDIA) 34 °C
Storage
238GB PLEXTOR PX-256M6S+ SCSI Disk Device (SSD)
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-60WN4A0 SCSI Disk Device (SATA) 31 °C
1862GB Western Digital WD My Book 1140 USB Device (SSD)

Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

So I was playing Overwatch at Ultra Settings then I noticed that my CPU temprature is at 93 celcius degree. I was worried with this number, as I'm using the stock CPU cooling that shipped with the chip.

Is this temperature dangerous for my system? What kind of cooling should I use to make it cool and quiet?

Thanks so much.

A very confusing noobs.

Solution
Yes, 93°C is way too hot. With a decent cooler, you could easily drop those temps down to 60-70°C.
You DEFINITELY shouldn't be gaming on the stock cooler for... well, any i7 in general.

If you don't want to go with liquid cooling, I would suggest the Cooler Master EVO:

If you do want to go with liquid cooling, I would highly suggest at least getting the Corsair H100i V2:

Solution
Your CPU cooler either isn't mounted properly or you have some serious airflow problems in your case. The stock cooler should be sufficient to run the 6700 at about 70 celsius or less under load. Open up your case and make sure the CPU cooler is not loose, if you have a cut out on the back of the case make sure all four push pins are all the way through.
