I would be grateful for your advice in upgrading my desktop PC's memory. I bought a fast i7-3770 3 years ago, with mobo Asus P-8Z77-V. The mobo specs are according to Asus:
4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2600(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
I have 8GB RAM currently but the Kingston HyperXblus 1600 CL9 does not exist any more, I would remove these and buy new, probably 4x8 GB.
My questions:
How important is the CL number for speed?
How big is the MHz impact on speed?
Does anyone have experience with these? 32GB (4x8GB) HyperX Predator DDR3-2400 CL11?
The PC is used 99% of time for CAD.
