I have a Dell Optilex 9020 MT with a 80+ Bronze PSU that from what i understand has a maximum wattage of 290 W so i was wondering if i could use a GTX 750 ti (or another card if you have a better suggestion) on that PC.

Solution
Easily. I have one running on a Dell 275W PSU with a smaller +12V rail than your PSU has. There is a GTX 1050 soon to be released that has no 6-pin header. Not sure how long before we see it here in the US.

Thank you so much for answering. I was wondering if i have to get the low profile one in order for it to fit.

No. If you have the mini tower http://i.dell.com/das/dih.ashx/358w/sites/imagecontent/consumer/merchandizing/en/PublishingImages/US-PD-pages-SMB/desktop-optiplex-9020-polaris-magnum-pdp-module-3.jpg
(on on the left) you can use both a full height card as well as a low-profile card.
