Before i start explaining my problem, I just want to say that I dont think my problem is so much of a hardware issue, i think its more of a software glitch but i didnt know which other category to post this thread in, my apologies if it is in the wrong category.

i have a lenovo ideapad p500. Yesterday i had an issue with my screen brightness, the button i use on the keyboard to turn the brightness up and down just suddenly stopped working, and the screen brightness was really low, i googled it and found it it had something to do with the graphic card, so i switched the graphic driver from IntelHD Graphics 4000 to microsoft basic display adapter, and that instantly fixed that issue, but then that somehow managed to mess up my webcam, the picture keeps flickering and sliding from left to right on the same image like photos in a slideshow, so i switched the graphic card back to intel because i assumed that would fix the cam problem, but it didnt fix it.

Anyway I then ran ''dust cleaner'' in the ''Energy Managment' program and about 5 minutes after it finished running one of my fans in my laptop keeps running at full speed and makes a huge noise, and the longer the fan runs for, the hotter my core cpu gets. I assumed that the dust cleaning program was still running but it conintued, so i uninstalled energy management and it still didnt solve the problem. When i shut the computer down and load it back up again the noise isnt there, but after about 10 or 15 minutes, the fan starts running really fast and loud again. Im not sure how to fix this. Im not sure if this problem is related to the graphic card problem or if runing the dust cleaner somehow caused it. I need some help to fix this problem with the fan. It was fine before all of the stuff i explained above which is why i dont think its an actual hardware issue I dont want to leave my laptop on for too long as i am worried it will cause some serious damage if it is left to run that fast. Can someone help me fix this please? Im running windows 10, upgraded from windows 8, its an intel core i5 3230m (ivy bridge). the graphics card is Intel (r) HD Graphics 4000. Microsoft basic display adapter

Just letting you know the reason why the fans are so loud is because your energy management program has made your fan spin backwards so all the dust on them would be blown away, why not reinstall energy management and disable dust cleaner, or have a look around for fan settings in your bios,

Hope this helps,

energy manager has already been uninstalled, and the fan is still doing it. would it continue to do that even though the program has been uninstalled?

if i reinstall energy manager do you know how i can disable it?

and also i have no idea how to use bios. could you tell me what i need to do?

The energy manager even though you've uninstalled it has already told your computer to spin the fan backwards, so the bios is altered either way installed or not, As for you disable it just do the opposite of how you enabled the dust cleaner and you should be fine.

all i did was open energy manager and click ''start'' on dust removal, there is no other option.so i cant really do the oposite as there is only a ''start'' button

if i reformat (use the reinstall windows feature on system recovery) will that fix the BIOS error?
