I'm big fan of small compact gaming rigs.The case that I have now is a mini tower that houses an FX 8300 CPU, 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ Ram, and an HD 7950 GPU.
When under load, the GPU overheats and begins to throttle. I thought the problem was my GPU until one day I decided to experiment by removing the side panel of my case. Under Load, my GPU would get up to 102 C (which is when the clock speed throttled). When I removed the side Panel the temp would drop by over 25 degrees!
The case I'm currently using is an ACER OEM case that I re-purposed...i'm guessing that was a bad Idea.
