My current specs:
i3-3250
8gb RAM
GTX 750ti

I want to upgrade my pc gradually and the first thing i want to change is the CPU. Since i have already MB and RAM for a third gen i5 or i7, what do you think have the best cheap/efficient relation? Replace the system completely or just upgrade the CPU?

PD: I just want to play at 1080p the AAA games. I plan to change my GPU to a GTX 1060 or something like that eventually, but the CPU is my first objective.

For a gtx 1060 an i5 3570 is fine, you might even want to consider an i7 3770 which are still very powerful and will last you for years.

Though in your case it's maybe better to upgrade the gpu first to a gtx 1060 or rx 480 first, it will give you the biggest improvement, since the i3 does not bottleneck the gtx 750ti at all, therefor you will probably not see an improvement over the i3 if you get an i5/i7 now.

I couldn't have put it better myself.

I forgot to mention that a friend of mine offered me his i5 3550 for like 90$, and it saves me shipping price (i'm from Paraguay and i have to spend around 17$ on shipping of a CPU, if it has free shipping in US). Is that all right or should i search for the 3570?

Well, in recent games like ROTTR my i3 is bottlenecking my 750ti, and i want to wait for the hype of the gtx 1060 to be over to buy it.

Strong CPU - a very worthwhile upgrade.

If that is a good price in your country then by all means do it, ofcourse the i5 is better than your i3, but as I said you probably won't see any fps improvement for now, until you get a better gpu like a rx 480/gtx 1060.

Your I3 is bottlenecking your gtx 750ti, I find that hard to believe :p not saying you're lying though haha. Did you use MSI Afterburner, did your cpu run 100% and gpu not?

Yeah, i was using MSI Afterburner and there were moments when my CPU went 100% and i got terrible stutters. Mi GPU is constantly 100% but the stutters just came when CPU went full 100%. I know the GPU is a better improvement, but this CPU will be like 30% of the price of a current gtx 1060. Small steps first hahaha
