So I have a spare motherboard with a CPU and RAM already installed and I'm thinking of building a living room HTPC computer out of it.

The CPU is an AMD A10-7870k and it has 16GB of RAM.
The Motherboard I'm using is a Mini-ITX Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI
I can get a HDD from work and I already have Windows 10 for it, so no bother about that. So I am in need of suggestions for a power supply and a case. I plan on just using the integrated graphics of the CPU.

Any suggestions for a low power consumption power supply (I've no clue on how much Wattage I will need) and also a decent case? Also, is there any software that you might recommend? I've heard of Kodi and that gets good reviews.

Thanks!

additional for software Kodi and Plex for media playback. Also check out on Kodi forums the Ember Media Manager, significantly easier to scrap all your files info using it and getting it right rather than relying on Kodi to choose and then dealing with it to fix mistakes.

Plex is frankly easier to use and can broadcast to other devices and outside of your home network too. Kodi is more customizatiable and codec robust.

Much depends on how much you want to spend, and how big of a case you really want. Also whether you want an optical drive.

Let's say a budget of $150 (for both power supply and case)and I'd like to have a smaller case that will be big enough to still fit the stock CPU cooler. Also, I'm not too worried about an optical drive because I will most likely use an external one, but if the case can accommodate an internal one, that would be a benefit.

also what size HDD you have, as in physical size.

Check out the Silverstone Milo series of case (theres a few with different internals/extior styles). You can't put a GPU in them, but they are small. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DU6RVK8/?tag=pcpapi-20

For this size you need an SFX size power supply. Silverstone also sells those. You need very little power, you'll be safe with anything over 300w for sure.

Thanks for the suggestion! I like that case, however, I'm not sure if the stock CPU cooler will fit.

Also, I can snag some spare 2.5 in and 3.5 in HDD's from work.

the one i linked to supports up to a 73mm height CPU cooler. Stock Intel will fit zero problems, not sure about AMD though. Height restrictions are important in ITX cases so always be sure to double check the actual dimensions.

To use 3.5" drives you're better off looking at cube style cases. Like the Cooler Master Elite 110/130 or the Corsair 250D or the Silverstone Sugo series.
