Basically, just like my title says, I can't get my ethernet connection to work. It stopped working while I was sleeping and I'm not sure what to do.

I contacted Microsoft and they told me since my PC is custom built that I needed to download my motherboard divers manually.

Things I have already tried:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Switching ethernet cables

Downloading drivers from Device Manager (obviously won't work without an internet connection)

I have found the driver website for my motherboard, but I don't know anything about it and wouldn't even know where to start or what to download. I plan to use a USB drive for the download since I don't have wireless on my PC (I've only used ethernet connection).

Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks !

Solution
Try clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a minute).
If still no go, an option would be a PCI LAN card.
