hello dear members.
my config : cpu-i5 2500k
mainboard : p8p67pro(the first version with that famous sata bug of sandybridge:Cougar Point).
gpu : gtx 97p SLI.
ram : 12gb 1333mhz.
HDD : 2*4tb.
ssd:intel 160gb.
PSU: green 1030w which is a re branded seven team 1000w PSU: review:

silverstone OP1000 re branded (combined 4 12v rails to one):http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=33
i have a wired problem about my system stability when it goes from heavy load to low load.
i have stopped overclocking to see if it helped but no avail.it is completely random and maybe happens after 5 days or just once in two days
problem is sometimes my system shows no dvi signal and after burner shows 00 in my Logitech lcd and the whole system hangs.it is obvious that my gpu stops working.
this always happens during light games like doom3 or la noire.doom3 when i closed the game or saved/loaded,la noire as soon as loading a cutscene.this doesn't happen during the gameplay but when something is loaded or saved or i exit the game.
sometimes after this occurrence,my system will not boot.it may turn on for a few seconds and all fans spinning then goes off or it just stays on with the fans spinning.on my mainboard, i can see ram/cpu/tpu leds are all on and not blinking but consistently on.i have to unplug and re plug some power connectors(pci express, cpu 8 pin) to boot successfully.(i think cpu cable does the trick i am not sure)sometimes it turns on normally after crashing for example today it just suddenly stopped as soon as i closed prime 95(again it was during no heavy load) but when i turned it on it booted without any problems.i was monitoring my 12v rail on molex cable with multi meter and it was 12.24(so it didn't drop or spike)when the system stopped working.(hw info shows between 12.096 to 11.5 or 11.4 but i trust the multi meter more).
there is no thermal related problem as i monitor the temps .i have stressed the system with prime and uni engine heaven running no crashes and multi meter shows about .02 to maybe .03 voltage drops at most(12.21).
so is it my PSU.can it be faulty yet having normal voltages and be stable during heavy loads?
can my gpus be faulty resulting in complete system hang when the load is reduced?
i have no access to another PSU to test but my reading of 12v and heavy tests show no problem during heavy load.i also watched my current consumption during the heavy tests with a cheap but good enough clamp meter showing 232amps at max meaning(230*232 = 533.6 w) power consumption.this amount is not enough to stress the PSU so it must be a walk in the park.
my PSU age is about 9 years but no more than 5hours heavy load(which honestly was nothing for a 1000w psu anyway) a day at max.this psu has been used with these cpu and gpus:
intel e6400 and 8800 gtx,then i5 2500k at 4.5 ghz and gtx 580,and now i5 2500k + gtx 970 sli.
the psu is a good brand in my country.i can not afford to buy a new psu but if it is faulty and can damage the system i will stop using it untill i have money to buy a new one.
so what is the problem?
can this kind of problem be a psu that can damage the system?
is there any steps for troubleshooting that i have to take?
thank you for your kind assistance.
