See if you can install an older/newer driver to see if that will resolve your issue
The GPU could be overheating
Your ram could be the issue, try and take the sticks out and re-insert them
De-fragment your Hard Drive

Assuming you're playing a game.
Are you using a network cable or wifi signaal to play online games?
If using wifi check the strength of the signal and do a speedtest.
If using a cable, check if the cable is working or try another network cable to test.
And maybe check your driver of your network card.

If you are getting lag spikes, I would not only resolve it to be a hardware problem, but also a networking problem. Have you installed any new internet services or has anyone tampered with your network settings?
