Moving ssd from laptop to newly built pc

Hello,
I want to move my laptop's ssd to a newly built pc which has no storage.
What should I do? Can i just unplug it from laptop and plug it into pc? Something in my brain tells that it doesn't work that simply.

Actually your suspicions are quite reasonable, that is of course, if you're talking about booting to the Windows you've already installed on that drive. Unfortunately things don't work that way. The Windows you've installed on the laptop has already been configured for the hardware of that system. In order for you to be able to boot to that Windows while the drive is connected to a different computer, at least the motherboards of both systems should be the same and even then, it's not guaranteed to work.
So basically what I'm saying is that you'll need to make a fresh installation of Windows when you connect the drive to the PC. I'd strongly recommend that you do that by backing up your important files and reformat the...
