Hello,

I just got Corsair 450 Watt for my old Desktop with the following specs:

  • Gigabyte Motherboard
    Sempron Processor
    and 2GB RAM

Please let me know if the SMPS suits well for that.

Also, I will have to purchase another SMPS for a computer with different specs. Let me know if I can get the similar one for this:

  • Digilite Motherboard
    Phenom II X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz
    and 8GB RAM

Thank you!

450W is plenty power for both computers. Depending on what graphics card you get, you may want to consider getting a higher rated one, like a 550W or 600W.
Just tested both sites, neither one are really close to my builds (one said I needed an 850W psu for my server, other said I needed a 1000W. It runs awesome...

There are a few websites where you can calculate roughly how much power your components use. Just google "power supply wattage calculator" or something like that. Otherwise I think 450W should be fine, unless you have a powerful graphics card.

Hello Max1s,

No, I don't have dedicated Graphics cards on both the systems.

I will add one to the Phenom system soon and less likely to add any Graphic card to Sempron in near future.

Thanks for your suggestion.

I tried CoolerMaster's calculator and Outervision's. CoolerMaster recommends 550Watt and Outervision 500Watt for both systems. A bit confused.
