well is the corsair vs 550 power supply good for this build

1. intel i5 3470
2. msi z77a-g41 motherboard
3. Planning to buy Gtx1060 6gb

is the powersupply sufficient?

Solution
That power supply is very low quality. It doesn't matter what computer it's for, I don't recommend it.

I recommend the Seasonic M12ii 620w Bronze. Don't worry about the fact that it's only Bronze certified, that's an efficiency rating and has nothing to do with product quality. There are plenty of companies that manage to get low quality units certified as high efficiency units, and there are also plenty of companies that produce outstanding quality units but get them certified as a slightly lower efficiency. In my opinion, if it's 80+ efficiency, it's efficient enough... At least until you get to about 1KW or so, then the efficiency really starts to matter in terms of your house wiring.

I really think that the Seasonic M12ii...

I really think that the Seasonic M12ii Bronze series of power supplies is the best you can get for under $80.

Hi weberdarren97 thanks for the suggestion. Currently I'm using corsair vs 550 power supply and i'm worried it cant supply enough electricity. Thanks and I will look on the model that you suggested

It's no that it can't supply enough power, it's that its voltage output can be unstable. If voltage output is unstable, it could result in damage to other components in the system. Usually the more sensitive components fail first, often starting with hard drives and progressing to graphics cards and motherboards as the problem progresses.

A good quality 550W power supply will be plenty more than enough for that system. In fact, you could run a GTX 1070 Founders Edition off of the power supply I linked earlier.
