First post.

Going to build a PC mostly for gaming. But a little video editing and photoshop work is bound to happen. No clue what I'm looking for I'd be buying it piece by piece over the winter I suppose. $700cdn budget even less if possible. Keyboard and mouse I can figure out later and already have a monitor.

Thank you for any replies.

$700CAD is pretty low and, and you will be playing games at 1080p medium settings and should get around 60fps. Video editing wont be the best experience with this low powered cpu and only 8gb of ram, but will be okay for small projects. This is about the best you can get for $700CAD. You will need an OS though, so if you need that factored in the cost I can adjust the parts.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-6300 3.8GHz Dual-Core Processor ($188.98 @ DirectCanada)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($64.98 @ DirectCanada)
Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($44.99 @ Newegg Canada)...

Thanks fellas. I'm fine with moderate and this is my first. So it'll just get better over time. Will post more as I start to order the pieces and maybe mix and match the two answers. Liking the SSD added. Wasn't even thinking of one. Thanks a ton.
