the thing is you will not have access to all the space on the drive especially when just formatting the drive will take up some space, take into account the OS...

if you are planning to put any games on the drive, you will need at least a 240gb. GTA 5 is a large game, and if you have the os anda few small programs, you may be able to get gta in there, but if you want some games on there I would say go for a 480gb or 512.

Should I just buy a 240GB to be safe?

the thing is you will not have access to all the space on the drive especially when just formatting the drive will take up some space, take into account the OS install and how much space updates will take up as well and the drive will not perform great if you end up close to or completely filling the drive. as i said at minimum you need a drive around 250GB

1. A 250GB is a better price vs size
2. GTA V is ~50GB all by itself. more than 1/2 the usable space on a 120GB drive.

Can you make a 120GB work? Yes.
But you actually have to spend time to keep everything fitting in that space.

Get the 240/250GB. You'll be kicking yourself in 6 months if you don't.

The fact that 480GB is under $100 now and the 240GB is $70 usually, you will be kicking yourself for getting 240. I have a 120GB which holds 4 games lol. Its worthless to sell and I feel I have to use it now, it seems with AAA games like the new COD that takes up 134GB, you need a bigger drive. My 480GB is full of games with room to spare. Couldn't be happier.

Yes, the 480+GB are slowly coming into the sweet spot for price v size.
