Hello, Im at uni so im forced to use Wifi. I used to have a PCIE card like: http://www.ebuyer.com/566944-asus-pce-ac68-ac1900-802-11ac-dual-band-wireless-pci-e-adapter-pce-ac68?mkwid=syjHkUDEu_dc&pcrid=51482427899&pkw=&pmt=&gclid=CjwKEAjwj92_BRDQ-NuC98SZkWYSJACWmjhlUdqgF9eLai0M3qrscDnfS_jnv0PiCR8N5GSL_O_96BoClX_w_wcB

and got 50 down and 0.9 upload. So i tested out a different card, a TP link one. For some reason i only get 10 down 10 up. The WiFi antennas are now round the back of the PC, so im wondering if this has anything to do with it. The Asus one came with some weird extender but i cant seem to find anything like it to buy by itself. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Say i get the one you linked, my card is 5ghz and 2.4ghz, should i use a 2.4ghz one since im at uni and the router is for the whole flat?

Oh just noticed that they're all 2.4Ghz units. The 2.4Ghz ranger is wider, so that may be the best bet if you're trying to cover a large range.

Another option if you're trying to cover a wide range without losing a lot of speed would be to look in to powerline with wifi adapters. Powerline is going to give you a better connection and adds a wifi extension. The only real downside would be the cost. I'd check out these kits:
