Heya!

So i bought a brand new Samsung 850 Evo 500GB today and i want to do a complete wipe of all my harddisks to start fresh again since non of my harddisks has been wiped in about 3 years time

I currently have:

1 80GB SSD Read/write speed of 270/90 mb (slow i know) http://ark.intel.com/products/56571/Intel-SSD-320-Series-80GB-2_5in-SATA-3Gbs-25nm-MLC

1 500GB SSD Read/Write speed 540/520 http://www.samsung.com/us/computing/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/ssd-850-evo-2-5-sata-iii-500gb-mz-75e500b-am/#specs

1 1000GB HDD

So my question is this: To what SSD should I install my OS ? I read somewhere that I should go with the big one and maybe skip the small one all together and leave it out of my system because some things can't not be installed on the OS disk ? Personally I would like it if i could dedicated my 80 GB SSD to only my OS and have absolutely nothing else on it

Thoughts, tips, tricks ? Everything is appreciated :)

Many people desire that. It never ever happens.
Some things you want installed with the OS, some things must be installed with the OS.

80GB is too small.

Put your OS and applications on the 500GB. It is larger and faster. Use the 80GB for random stuff.

For starter, where is your current OS located at? I recommend to install your OS at your Samsung SSD. I think your 80GB SSD can be used for some things, ex: Backup Drive ; Another Windows OS just incase ; or simply another OS like Ubuntu or something ; you can use it for your small games ; etc

Install OS to the fastest drive, in your case Samsung SSD. The small one can be used for any of the following:

- use it in another rig which currently does not have SSD at all (probably the best option)
- sell it
- use it in your current rig as additional storage (least useful)

As it's been mentioned you're going to want to install your OS on the larger drive. The issue is that if you were to install on the 80GB drive overtime it would expand naturally due to OS updates or other various things. So just to repeat install your OS on the larger drive then you could use the smaller one to install a game to or other random things. Also depending on how much ram you have you could move your page file to the smaller drive.
