hey guys
So im looking at an Acer AT350 server board for a server turned gaming pc conversion project because idk its something different but anyway it has pcie slots that im not sure whether or not will support a gtx 780. theres two poof these pcie slots and they have a Con. width of x16 but a bus width of x8 and from the small amount of info i can gather i would need a joiner or something to join the two lanes to share the load between them if that makes sense ive no idea pcie slots their just confusing so if anyone could give me a straight answer of yeah it will work or no that wont work or no it wont but theres a joiner adaptor thing then that would be great.
cheers Guys

NVidia specs there card to be use in a x8 slot at the min so you should be good

don't forget on most sli capable motherboards with 2 cards there slots are reduced to x8 anyway and run them fine [intel cpu limitation ]

amd rund all through the chipset and can do full 2 x16 to get this from intel you need a cpu with the extra pcie lanes in the chip or / and a board with a plx chip

Ah ok awesome thankyou thats very helpfull

then being acer may better look and see what cards they and there proprietary boards/ bios will let you use if any at all over a low pro / low power firepro or Quattro .. that prebuilt brand ]dell/ hp /acer/ ect...] of stuff can be real funny and leave you holding the bag

I would not count on too much and get any hopes up on that deal [opinion]

good luck
