My computer won't boot. I get just a still cursor in the centre of the screen and it's stuck.

All fans are running in the machine and USB devices including keyboard light up. If I press Ctrl+Alt+Del, it refreshes the screen and back to the still prompt.

If I take out a RAM stick, it shows a message saying that memory or CPU has changed and to press F1 or F2, but neither does anything and it stays stuck.

EDIT: Also, if I take out the battery and try to turn it on, the machine won't power on at all. Is this normal?

Tried these:
- Replaced the CMOS battery
- Removed the CMOS battery - the computer won't power on at all
- Took out all the RAM - when turning the machine on with no RAM, it repeatedly reboots in cycle
- Put in one stick of RAM
- Disconnected everything except for one stick of RAM, CPU and power

It's a MSI Z77A-G43 motherboard with Intel i5 core processor.

I've done that. It does power on but won't POST, it just gets stuck on a black screen with still cursor prompt.

Also, is it normal for the machine to not power on at all if I remove the battery?

Yes, its normal. Mobo wont boot without battery. It looks like that the mobo is faulty and needs to be replaced/RMA'd/. Please wait and see what other members have to say.
