Windows 10 not connected - no connections are available, there might be a problem with the driver for the ethernet adapter

Ever since doing a Windows update on 3/10/16 my PC has been unable to connect to the Internet. On the bottom right corner where the network is shown, it has a red circle with a cross in it which says 'not connected - no connections are available'.
When I troubleshoot, it says 'there might be a problem with the driver for the ethernet adapter'. I've tried at least 5 different drivers, none of which have worked when each one used to in the past, before doing the Windows update.
I thought that the problem could be my network card, so I bought a new one, which didn't fix anything and gives me the same message about the drivers. I've gone through the properties and settings of the ethernet adapter and everything is how it should be. I've updated my motherboard BIOS and have tested my ethernet cable on other devices to make sure that it works, which it does. I even tried tethering my Android phone to my PC to see if that would work, but even then I get the same message about having no connections available, and troubleshooting yet again gives me the same message about the drivers for the adapter.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter multiple times with no success. I can't roll back my windows version to before the update and I don't have any system restore points so I can't go back that way. I've tried resetting my PC, but then I just face another problem where my mouse and keyboard don't work on the keyboard layout setup screen, so I can't go through with resetting the OS.
It seems like I've tried everything I can and nothing has helped me in the slightest and it's getting pretty frustrating to have no Internet access on my PC.

Is your chipset drivers along with networking drivers compatible with windows 10 ?
If so grab a linux live cd test the ethernet card with it, if it gets a signal through it.
It might be a problem with windows 10 and the motherboard.
If its not windows 10 ready, your best bet is to buy a new network pci-e ethernet card.

You could grab another hdd, install windows 7 home sp1 and see if it works.
If it does the samething like in windows 10, the ethernet port on the mobo is dead.
Device mananger will be able to tell you whats wrong, read the error code and bing...

EDIT:
So I just turned my PC on this morning and it's suddenly working again, after trying everything that I thought I could, it just fixed itself overnight somehow, strange..

Check device manager in windows 10 look at the network tab and make sure windows 10 says the drivers are fine.
If not it will have a exclamation or red x beside it and the details tab maybe able to shed some light on the problem.
If you see multiple clones of your ethernet card, delete the one with (1) and (2).
You may want to look at windows update and narrow down which update did all of this on that date.
Microsoft did indeed send out some bad updates, so you may have picked it up over time while windows updated itself off and on.

I have a similar issue, however, I may have inadvertently fucked things up profoundly. Assuming the problem was related to a driver, I did a clean install of Windows 10, hoping this might solve this issue. It did not. Neither have attempts to install ethernet drivers manually.
Any suggestions as to what to do?
