Hey guys

I had a strange issue with my mobo and I would like to give me your opinion about that.

My PC specs are:
Mobo : Asus Formula Vi
i7 4770s
16GB RAM Corsair Dominator
PSU : Tagan 700W TG700-U25
2 Asus GTX 570 in SLI

Recently i decided to upgrade my video cards and I bought an Asus GTX 1070 Strix
I also had to install a power pin converter because my PSU (tagan 700W) had 2x6pin and the new card needs 1x8pin. So I took on adapter 2x6pin to 1x8pin (to have 150W). I changed the card and my mobo refused to start. It made a sound that it will start booting but less than a second the mobo shuts down and I couldn’t do anything till I unplug the power cable and connect it again. I tried several times but nothing happened.

Then I had the idea to press the green button on the rear panel which is the CMOS button. Every time I pushed it I didn’t have to unplug the power cable and try again to power on the computer. Finally after I press the button 4 times, the computer powered on with default bios and now is working perfectly with the new card. I even tried few benchmark tests.

That is very strange to me and I don’t know if it’s ok to continue work the computer.
Do you think that was just a Bios problem?
Do you think it is a PSU problem?
Do you have any other answer?
