CPU question need help

Is that an okay CPU for the next budget ish upgrade? Unfortunately i cannot afford more than £150 but I am desperate to get rid of the FX 4300 because it performance is horrible in newer games. If anyone has a better cpu for less than £150 then let me know! lol thanks

My system specs:

Amd FX4300 CPU
RX480 8GB graph card
8GB DDR3 Ram
760GM-P23 Motherboard
1TB hard drive.

Will the CPU upgrade at least get me more FPS and bearable game play with newer games? Mafia 3 I'm getting 30(Cause its capped) on lowest settings but when in heavy combat or driving it turns down to 12 - 15 FPS.

A new Intel Core i3-6100 and motherboard is the best upgrade for you because FX-Series CPUs are very old, have no upgrade path, are terrible for gaming, and just overall a bad choice in today's market.

Thanks Ryguybuddy. Will I see more performance if I get that motherboard and CPU? In terms of FPS in Mafia 3 and other games compared to my current setup ? From what I understand my GPU is quite good. Not top quality but pretty good.

Yeah, a RX 480 and i3-6100 are used a lot in PC Build lists today. It will make a huge improvement over your previous FX-4300.

And your GPU is severely bottlenecked by your CPU, this is why you are seeing such bad FPS.

I think you recommended this setup to me before. Unfortunately the 6100 is unavailable for "Up to two months".
And any other website that I go through adds more shipping which means the total I will be paying is past my budget unfortunately. Is there a cheaper motherboard I can go with?
