Hey all, I'm running a stock eMachines el1352-07e with the AMD Athlon II X2 220 CPU, which consumes ~65 watts of my PSU. I would like some quicker performance, so do you think I would be safe to upgrade to the AMD Athlon II X4 640 CPU (compatible with my motherboard), which will consume ~95 watts? I believe my PSU is around 200-250W.

Thanks so much in advance for all of you help!

You don't have a whole lot of options with that old cooler fastening system and small form factor case, your best bets should this arise would be to get a good thermal paste and turn the fan up.

No idea, you'll just have to try it out or go look on an emachines forum, I guarantee someone has done this swap.
Alright, thanks so much. I think I'm gonna do the swap, if it starts overheating I will go from there. I'm sorry, I'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to a lot of hardware things, fans included, are there a lot of fans that are universal/have a good reputation, incase that problem does arise?
