Samsung 950 Pro NVMe vs PCIe?

Since it wasn't mentioned, while the 950 Pro is an amazingly fast drive ( I have a 512Gb model ) Samsung recently announced the 960 Evo and 960 Pro. I don't see them for sale yet but the 960 Evo is faster than the 950 Pro and quite a bit cheaper. As in you can get a 500GB 960 Evo for about the same price as the 256GB 950 Pro.

Not sure when they will start showing up in the market but it will be soon.

The plastic case costs $31. :heink:

As other have said the drives are identical except for the plastic case. The expensive plastic case.

Samsung 960 EVO is not necessary faster than 950 Pro. It depends on how close 960 EVO is to PM961 and how much the performance of PM961 was limited because of early firmware.

As you can see from the review of PM961 on Tom's Hardware, PM961 is actually worse than 950 Pro and less consistent
