Not sure how to detect why this is happening but for some reason my computer will freeze for a fraction of a second whenever I am playing games. I watched FPS counter and sometimes it doesnt drop so that is slightly worrying.

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS VIII HERO
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
HyperX Blacks 16GB (8x2)
i706700K running at 4.0ghz not overclocked yet.

EDIT:
Corsair 850W+ GOLD

I am still looking for a solution despite accidently hitting the best solution button on a reply lol.

Solution
Sounds like the PSU, but it could also mean just the PC itself, for exmaple I have a 2010 Dell Optiplex 960 SFF, GTX 750Ti, 8GB DDR3, EVGA 430W, Xeon X3323 M6 2.50Ghz and I get 0.5-1 second freezes from time to time and there's not fix for it, just simply the PC can't catch up with demands.

PSU is a 850w+ Gold Corsair. I dont think it should be letting me down since its pretty good and not cheap. Maybe its defective?

Dont think its very demanding, im not running things on high settings or anything. My old PC was significantly weaker and could do all the things I am currently doing and more, I'm not exactly pushing the machine in anyway. Its being very weird.

You don't have to be pushing the machine to expierence these freezes, you could be simply watching a film and expirence these freezes, it's all up to how the components work together and how they perform in certain situations.

For exmaple from my expirence helping people, I seen a lot of people complain about GTX 780 and core 2 duo e8400 not working together well and they used to expirence random GPU crashes and freezeing or random stastic noise without freezeing, I also seen people having issues running xeon e3110 along with dual chan 4GB Samsung RAM, where they would expirence PC crashes when having a lot of programs opened in the background.

There's bunch of people that have to deal with these freezes including me and it's a shame that in most cases we can't do anything about it.

Yeah thats kinda sad. Unfortunately my problem is a constant, and I get it around about 1-2 times an hour when playing games. Nothing noticable goes funky with desktop use. Its really hard to say what is causing the problem right now so I am waiting for something to die since its still covered by warrenty.
