Hi guys,

I plan on buying an i5-6600K, with the Asus Z170-A and the GeForce GTX 1060 6gb. Still gotta decide which memory to buy. Any suggestions ?
I got a Samsung 840 EVO 500gb and a 7.2k HDD. Also, I currently have a 2.5 years old Antec Earthwatts 500W. I don't plan on overclocking. Will it be enough for this rig ?
Do you guys see any compatibility problems before I buy ?

Thanks a lot!

Solution

It is a significant price drop and that's why going for the 6600k is not worth it. And neither is 3200Mhz ram. While it would be nice to have in theory, only z170 MBs can handle it and it's performance impact is negligeable at best.
The rule of thumb is that you should sink the vast majority of your cash in the GPU, and have a system that can support it.\So you are way better getting a 6500 wiht abuild like i linked and striving to grab a 1070 instead of that 1060 if you can.
Your psu will do.
Here, as you need a cooler aswell(6600k does not include one):

Thanks The Matrix! Nice imput there.

I was going for the i5-6600K because it's at 3.5 ghz, while de 6600 is only 3.2ghz. I believe the 6600 does have integrated cooling right ?

THose extra Mhz are not worth the price premium. Go with this instead if don't intend to overclock:

Oh... that's a quite surprising price drop.
Are you saying the 3200 memory isn't worth the extra money either ?
And what about the video card ? I was about to go for the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB @ $339 (NCIX). What do you think ?

Thanks again!

Whoops! Forgot to mention I live in Canada... that's why the prices looked so low to me! lol (Canadian dollar is weaker than US dollar, 1 CAD = 0.70 USD roughly)

Anyways, thanks a lot for your insight, that gave me a different point of view

You're welcome!
