Black screen and computer crash when running games

I recently installed a new graphics card into my system - a MSI GeForce 1060 6GB (I used to have an Radeon HD 7770). Now whenever I try to run a game e.g. Counter Strike, Borderlands 2 etc. I get a black screen or my computer shuts down entirely without warning - as if the power had been cut to the PC.

Steps I have taken to diagnose:

1 - I've been able to check for overheating and my CPU does not run past 65°C (at 90% load) and my new GPU does not run hotter than 50°C in a 3D stress test.

2 - I've tried reinstalling my old graphics card, but I come back with the same results. Even though I used to run these games completely fine on the old graphics card.

3 - I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics card drivers and even tried installing a older drivers in case there was some bug.

I have no overclocks on the GPU or the CPU and have a 650W PSU that is about 5/6 years old. I've been searching for a solution for a while, as I have not been able to play any games in a while.

This is the info I get from the Event Viewer at the time of each crash/shutdown:

Let me know any solutions you guys may have and I'll try as many as I readily can.

What is the exact make and model of your PSU? You can find that information on the PSU itself.

Are you getting this crash with your old GPU also? Was this happening before you installed the new GPU? If so the PSU is most likely the cause.

Umm...the make and model is on the other side, which would mean having to take it apart, which I try to avoid as it's a lot of effort. Is it vital to know both of these? I can get them if needed.

I am getting the crash with my old GPU and no it was not happening before I installed my new GPU. That's what I'm so confused about!

It is not vital to know specific information about the component that is most likely the cause of your problems. I don't want to put you through too much trouble to try and fix your issue.

Possibly someone else can give you some software related tips to stop your system from losing power and shutting down. I only know how to address hardware issues, sorry :(

I found something else. I can run and play games for any amount of time if I run these games at a lower resolution e.g. Anything but 1920x1080. Do you have any ideas about why I can run the games at a lower resolution and not 1920x1080. Could that also be related to power?
