So i got a new CPU cooler today and while cleaning my CPU from the previous thermal paste some of the liquid went between the mobo and the CPU. I did not notice it and I proceeded installing the cooler and trying to boot the PC only to find out that it wont boot.
I tried several times, checked power cables, case cables etc. Everything was fine until I felt like something was wrong with the CPU. I removed the cooler, removed the CPU and to my surprise there was liquid all over the bottom area of the CPU as well as on the PINS of the motherboard.
Tried to remove it with cloth/paper towels but to no avail. There is still a lot of liquid "hiding" on the motherboard's PINS.
Currently both CPU and mobo sit next to a radiator and plan on leaving them to dry for the night and check again tomorrow.
So my question is, what are the chances of having damaged one of the two or ofc both while trying to power it up?
I'll try again tomorrow if I feel like it's dry and post back here to let you know if it worked or not.
Quick clarification, by saying it won't boot I mean it starts and shuts off immediately.
