Monitor Black Screen on New PC Build (READ CHECKLIST NOTHING WORKS)

I just built a new computer..

Everything works, fans, GPU fans, LEDs.. the monitor DETECTS something, but the screen is black. I KNOW that I connected everything properly, double checked wiring, everything like that..

I am planning on buying a case speaker, so I can tell whether things are posting or not. Anyways, here are my specs:

Intel Core i5-6400
GTX 1070 Windforce OC Edition
500W PSU Bronze
Gigabyte G1 Gaming GA-H170-Gaming 3 Motherboard

I am connecting the monitor and computer through VGA. And if the problem is that I am not connecting the monitor to the PC the right way, then I will return my monitor and get one with an HDMI port.

Which way your monitor is currently connected to the PC?
(In which port? Are you using an adapter?)

Also, can you tell the monitor's make and model (or part number)?
