I have a macbook air 13-inch early 2014, 120 GB, its WAYYYYY to low. I was wondering what kind of hard drive it has and if I can find the hard drives cheaper then $500. not sure if its $500 just because the hard drive has an apple logo on it?
Heres an amazon link to an apple hard drive:
https://www.amazon.com/661-7462-661-7464-512GB-Solid-State/dp/B00YWOG888/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1475971693&sr=1-1&keywords=macbook+air+13-inch+early+2014+hard+drive

Also, is this hard drive the same thing??? https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-Predator-SHPM2280P2-240G/dp/B00V01C376/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1475971833&sr=1-4&keywords=solid+state+pcie

Being that it's apple it may be proprietary. Most of their hardware is and has been the case in the past, hardware not specifically certified to work with apple may not. Even if it appears similar. Maybe you can find out from someone who has successfully done it but from the looks of it, it's a proprietary socket design.

If you look at the pic of the one in that amazon link, it's notched differently and likely has a different pin layout than regular m.2 ssd's.
This is from the drive you linked to.

This is from a review done by thessdreview, same pin layout for the connection to the m.2 socket...

Those are internal hdds (Hard Drives) They are barley sold and cost too much. MAC computers come with USB slots, with these USB slots you can connect portable external hard drives to use. https://www.amazon.com/Black-Passport-Portable-External-Drive/dp/B00WJOVDYM. It connects to your computer, but does not go inside it. 1 TB = 1000 GB

Other m.2 drives I'm able to find on newegg, the pinout has 3 tabs, a small one on either end and a large one in the center or a large tab with a small tab on one end. Closely gathered pins all along the tabs rather than the apple pics where there are two tabs of nearly equal size, a distinct set of 3 pin groups on the larger tab and 2 groups of pins on the smaller. If the edge connector pinout doesn't match apples both physically and internally (the trace functions to the flash memory on the pcb), it's likely not going to work.

Update: I did find a place that sells compatible drives for it. They're around $250 for a 240gb drive, $300 for the update kit. People as recently as 2015 were having difficulty finding them anywhere but from apple directly. If you look at their photos you'll see their pinout on the replacement drive connector matches those other two images of macbook air ssd's.

And people ask me why I hate apple. Thats exactly why. Assholes can't even make it easy for you to put in a larger hard drive. I know how you can fix your problems. Buy a non mac product, lol.
