I am looking forward a RAM for notebook (sodimm) that is unbuffered but it has ECC (error correcting code) of type: DDR 2. I would really like to know if the exist and where i could buy some.
I know well that they exist for a desktop computer, but for notebooks?

Thank you really for the memory!!!
The size shown in the link is 256mb, I would find modules of 4gb each.
I have several laptops but i would know if actually it's possible on a hp pavilion 2085el.
I cannot find any specific line about the exactly RAM types supported on this laptop model, not even in the hp service manual.
it is said that it supports 2 modules for a total of "8Gb DDR2".Not much..
Where i could find a better confirmation?

I highly doubt your laptop supports ecc. Ecc is for mission critical systems, mainly servers and life critical computers.

I wouldn't waste any more time even looking for that ram. DDR2 is outdated and finding DDR2 ecc will be extremely hard to find. And even if you find it most likely its not going to work in that computer anyways.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/do-any-laptops-support-ecc-memory.730428/

it is said that "Usually CPU manufacturers disable or do not include ECC in their dies".
So if i check if my core 2 quad Q9100 has this enabled or disabled i should finally know if i can or not use an ecc module!
oooh shaize!!!

http://www.game-debate.com/cpu/index.php?pid=266&pid2=265&compare=core-2-quad-q9100-2-26ghz-vs-core-2-quad-q9000-2-0ghz

q9100 family does not support ECC memory, my dreams end here, so only XENON processors or some i3 or aother few processors can support them for business logic, what a pity ...
maxwellmelon you have been a Great supporter thank you.
