Bought used CPUs they overheat in a matter of minutes.

Hey So I decided to build myself a new computer. I bought used cpus before with great success so I decided to do the same, This time I bought 2 intel E5-2660. I installed them in a brand new supermicro x9Dai, and bought a Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 for each cpu. But I can't run the computer for more than a few minutes before the cpus start to overheat and the motherboard beep starts going off. The cpu activity is less than 2%. It overheats before I can open any programs. I have tried different Thermals Pastes and nothing seems to work. There is plenty of airflow I'm running 7 fans. The air coming off the radiator seems very cool.. I'm not sure what else to try. Could it possibly be that the heat sensor is broken, or both cpus might be defective? Everything besides the cpus are brand new.
Any Ideas?

Well does your machine act like it is overheating other than listing the temperatures are to hot. Personally I would remove one of your cpus and see if the computer crashs, although you risk burning the cpu out, but If infact the CPU is overheating due to it being defective I dont see why you want to keep an "boot only use" cpu anyway

There are no sign of overheating besides the motherboard beeping and seeing the temperatures on coretemp showing core temperatures of 90c. I would've thought the computer would shutdown immediately, but it doesn't, it runs normally although I haven't tried to run cpu heavy processes on it because I'm afraid to kill the motherboard sockets or something else. Also room temperature right now is 10c so they should be running at around 30c.

maybe it is caused by bad thermal paste between the die and the metal cover that intel used? because i heard some people saying that the thermal paste is bad and they get some overheat issue when overclocking, which is the main reason why people delidding their cpu. by the way are you sure that the processor overheating? what thermal paste that you use? and do you know how long have they been used?

Sounds to me like the pumps aren't on. Should be warm air coming offf the radiators and the line from the cpu to the radiator would be warmer than the inbound line as well. All the right power connections get made? What does the corsair control software show?

My best guess is that you might have a dead CPU cooler. It sounds like the CPU performs alright but just heats up quick and thats probrably due to a dead pump on your cooler. A dead pump wont get cool water flowing and will most likely heat a CPU real quick. Most air coolers wont die like that and if they do you can replace the fan on most. Try a new cooler. Hope this helped :)

There should be a sound from the pump when the pc is turned on, if there is none then the pump is broken. Also if you bought the cpu's with the stock coolers try to use them with the stock ones, also check in the bios to see if there aren t any values wrong.
