After installing 2gb aditional (4+2) ram my pc is crashing after running too many programs. Seems for me it is a [strike]psw[/strike] PSU issue but how can i find the problem ? My [strike]psw[/strike] PSU is only 300 watts and is like 5 years old. It is windows 10 64 bit. Also my disk runs at 100% of usage and is causing my pc to run slow.

Edit: here is my pc manual: https://www.manualowl.com/m/Dell/Inspiron-580/Manual/187271

Can u post a screenshot of disk management? And I did suggest Windows in-built repair and your disk manufacturers hard drive self-diag software. If you say your hard drive make and model I'll tell you which one. You may also need to run Windows repair from a bootable USB if your recovery partitions are missing/corrupt

i get something like this in the photo:

The ram i had it was 2 x 2gb and i install an additional stick which is 2 gb. Does anyone know a software to identify any errors in my hardware?

Yeah it's probably misconfigured or corrupt RAM. What are the models of all RAM you have installed? You can run Windows Memory Diagnostics via Control Panel or get memtest86 for a more thorough RAM check but it's likely related to the new RAM you installed not playing well with your current configuration. The first thing I'd do is update BIOS and clear CMOS, but knowing what exact RAM/MB/CPU etc you have would be helpful.

okay i checked the SPD, the two rams that come from dell are exactly the same but mushkin has some differences, is that a problem? See the photos:

Yeah the RAM are not exactly identical, and the timings differ, but it's quite a good match. Unfortunately mixing RAM either plays ball or doesn't, especially with an odd number of RAM sticks, and there isn't a lot you can do other than adjust things in the BIOS in the hope it'll stabilize. The voltage and frequency are matched at least, and there's a chance that isn't the problem. Do you still run into the same problem with the Mushkin RAM removed? That would be the best way to determine whether it's the RAM, as I notice now you say in your first post that disk usage runs at 100%. Is there anything in Task Manager explaining using that much when it does? If not you could have corrupt system files or even a failing HDD.

well, my disk is not always at 100% of usage, right now it is working fine, when i open large programs like xampp or bluestacks then it slows down. Before installing that new ram my pc wasn't crashing at all. Maybe it is both my ram and psu problems. Can you show me a video tutorial what to do on bios? Notice that i upgraded windows 8 to windows 10 and that may be a problem too

Try running some diagnostic tools, and firstly the Windows Repair Tool. I wouldn't recommend manually tweaking BIOS settings for your RAM as each system is unique and that's advanced stuff. I fancy it could be Windows, or your hard drive. Try the Windows Repair Tool and your disk manufacturers self-diagnostic tool first. Also, what partitions etc does your OS drive have in DIsk Management? I think a clean Windows install would help.

okay thanks for your help so we have concluded it is mostly a windows problem and not a hardware. If it is a windows problem i will search for a youtube video to solve the problem
