Hi there ... i have an issue with a AMD system that is crashin/freezin all the time... I have changed my old gpu(gts 450) to a fairly new one ( hd 7770 , 20$ on ebay) . I thought that my old gpu is dying , but it seems to be another problem, the pc freezes as it froze with the old gpu... I checked the rams too, i have put in some new ram sticks , it froze up... The psu is fine , i just bought it ... I dont know what can be the problem , so i need your help! SPecs:
CPU: AMD ATHON II x3 450
GPU: XFX RADEON HD 7770 Double dissipation , GHZ edition
PSU: Sirtec HP-550S
Mobo: AsRock 870 Extreme 3
Ram :2x2 GB Corsair ( i dont know what model can they be) DDR3
Storage: Intel SSD 540s 120 gb

Solution
And it was not the mobo faulty, i figured it out that the steelseries engine was the problem here , it was causing the crash every time i installed it , so guys, if you have steelseries peripherials DO NOT use the engine.

I have just bought a new ssd instead a mechanical drive , fresh install of the oOS would not solve the problem . According to the BIOS readings , it's running the latest version . I have installed all the drivers for the mobo , but problem still persists.

At this point, the only common link is your motherboard itself or the CPU. You've had the same problem with your old GPU. You've now replaced the PSU, RAM, a new SSD, fresh OS install, and you have latest BIOS. You mentioned also that your temps are fine. My only other thought is that it's a specific driver causing the issue, and it's not GPU drivers as you switched from NVIDIA to AMD. Does the issue occur after the clean install of your OS before you install drivers for your chipset, LAN, ect? If it doesn't happen until you get some drivers installed, you'll have to narrow down which one is the cause.

Update ! I have updated the BIOS , cuz my windows gave me a BSOD of ACPI_BIOS_ERROR... i dont know what that means ...anyways, i`ve updated it , removed 1 stick of ram , and it`s been now 2 hours from the last BSOD/crash. I underclocked my cpu to 2.4 ghz and it`s stable. I hope that is not going to crash anymore. If it does, i`ll throw this sucker out of window!

One more thing...I noticed something today , that after my pc freezes the bios is set to default mode... Default date and time and it asks for bios settings on POST screen... I dont know why is this happening...I think it`s a bios crash/corruption.
