My keyboard won't work!
it works in BIOS but when I load my OS it stops working.

The machine is DELL inspiron running windows 10.
I have found mluiple people facing the same problem and I have tried ALL the solutions described.

I have taken out the battery and held down the power button for a minute... I tried taking out the power supply ... disconnecting the motherboard ... reinstalling keyboard drivers .... I checked the Synaptic drivers for the touchpad ... enabled/disabled USB legacy in BIOS .... i tried modifying the value of a port service in the Registery..... booted into safemode ........
I have tried EVERYTHING! nothing is working!

The keyboard is not faulty as a hardware, I took it out of the laptop and connected it to another machine and it worked fine. I tried to connect an external keyboard to the laptop, the driver for it was installed successfully and it showed the device as working properly in the Device Manager, but the keyboard wan't working!!

I have been at this for thirty hours straight and I can't figure out what the problem is! Can someone offer any insight?

Solution
Test it with a Linux Boot disk to rule out any hardware issues. If that works, you can try a system restore point to a time the keyboard was working, or a repair setup of Windows, or just a full new Windows setup.

I already tried that .... i had an Unknown device listed, i checked its ID. it was the synaptics driver. I uninstalled, downloaded the driver from the DELL website and installed it and rebooted.
didn't work -_-
