Hello all! I have a quick question! Maybe you can help?

Why do I still have programs, pictures, files, ect.. on my computer after I changed the hard drive to a brand new one? I thought it was all stored on there? (I don't want there to be anything)

I just bought an expensive hard drive and everything is still on my computer, its like nothing even changed.

Computer- Alienware 17 R3

New HDD -- 1TB 2.5in SATA (7200 RPM)

Thanks!

From the manufacturers website:
storage on 3 out of 4 of the particular alienware laptops show they have two drives. The operating system is on a SSD. I am assuming you saved your files to this drive as well, and simply swapped out the extra storage drive.

Thank you for the reply! So should I replace the SSD drive as well then? There is a small chip that says "Samsung SSD CM871 m.2 2280 128GB" Would that be the one? Sorry, I'm a complete computer noob xD deff appreciate the help!

Yes it would be!
If you pop it out, you will only be left with the new HDD you bought.
