a couple of weeks a go my mouse started acting weird. When i have to click on smthng it won't work, neither the left click or the right click. but, the only possible way to do it was to click both (right click and left click) at the same time simultaneously for like 3-4 times. And after doing that I am able to click NORMALLY on anything in that Window
Example : I have to open "This PC" so i click on it. but when i have to click anything that is Inside the WINDOW of This PC. I have to click both my buttons a couple of time....but once it's done i can click normally in that window.....but the same problem arises for anything OUTSIDE the Window....from start button to desktop...nthng response Please hel

Event Viewer is a good tool but it is, as you have discovered, somewhat limited.

Many error messages are cryptic and full of cryptic codes and numbers. And unless you see those errors everyday it can be difficult t make any sense of it all.

Right click the red errors. More information will be presented. See if you can decipher anything being related to the mouse. Then google the codes or words that you found. May take a few tries to get your own "process" working. Just stick with it.

Post what you find. Do avoid any sites offering downloads or some other fix for the problem. Some of those sites will show up no matter what you are researching. Read what they may say as that information may be a clue of sorts.

Likewise do...

Make and Model mouse? Age, condition?

Wired -- check the cable connection to be sure that it is snug and tight.

Wireless -- try a new battery.

Does the mouse work on other computers? Do other mice work on your PC?

See if the problem follows the mouse or the PC.

Not sure what to suggest as a direct "fix" action.

Especially with respect the mouse/clicking behavior "inside" and "outside" of the windows.....

However, you can go into Task Manager and see what all is running as far as processes, services, apps.

One by one shut down other applications that may be running - see if the mouse starts working normally somewhere along the way.

Because the problem is intermittent that suggests (to me) some sort of physical malfunction. Thought about maybe some internal USB power problem. Most likely you would see other problems (i.e., keyboard, wireless) if that were the case.

But there could be some sort of "perfect storm" pattern in the software and configuration.

Have you ever set up any custom mouse configurations: maybe there is some leftover process or service trying to assert itself.

Look for any power saving options that may be turned on. Likewise check the Ease of Access settings - clear anything there.

Again look at the Task Manager. See what is running. Go into the Command Prompt and watch what changes. You should see something that starts or stops with "normal". And then again, when the misbehavior starts again.

Failing that you can open and check through the Event Viewer logs - maybe they are catching something that corresponds to the problem's patterns.

No problem. Here is a link within this forum:

http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-3128616/windows-event-viewer.html

It takes awhile to look around the logs to get oriented with them and learn about what they entail. However, there is no harm in looking through them until you get comfortable with the overall concept.

You are looking for red and yellow flagged entries. And you will probably find quite a few yellow ones - mostly routine stuff experienced by every computer. (And used by scammers to dupe people into thinking things are wrong with the computer....)

Likewise do not just start applying fixes. Some may work, others may make things worse. At some point you will start seeing a concensus that matches your situation and then derive the appropriate fix accordingly.

Again feel free to post what you find. Someone else here may spot something I am missing.....
