I have a Dell XPS 8700 Bios version A11 7/9/2015. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 in the 2TB with no issues. After that I upgraded with an 850 EVO SSD by installing clean Windows 10 on SSD with no sweat. My problem is that my 1.8 TB Harddisk never shows up EVERY FIRST BOOT. I have to restart Windows 10 and then the 1.8 TB WOULD APPEAR with no issues. It is always like this every time I start from cold boot. I need help guys as my unit is out of warranty and I had no luck searching for answers, not even in Dell Support website. I checked all the drivers and they are all updated with no issues. Checked the 1.8 TB harddrive and there are no hardware/software defects. Tried Legacy and UEFI boot settings with no resolve.
I have already wiped out the 1.8TB as the Evo 850 is running Windows 10 already.

Specs:
BIOS: UEFI Boot: Windows Boot Manager
(Legacy = Disabled)
i7 4790
16GB DDR3
Nvidia 970
Samsung Evo 850 256gb
1.8 TB Seagate SSHD
Lite-on 32GB mSATA (before used as Flash in Windows 8.1 Legacy boot mode but reformatted for storage space already)

Appreciate expert advice. Looking for answers. Thanks in advance!

Hi there darkhawk44,

You've done some extensive troubleshooting. :)

Have you tried something simple as just attaching the drive with different SATA and power cables? You can try to attach the drive to another SATA port as well. (that's on a different controller perhaps)
I believe you can even switch places of both drives.

Cheers,
D_Know_WD :)

Thanks for the suggestion D_Know_WD... I tried swapping Sata cable and tried the other ports as well, still have no luck. the 2TB harddisk never appears from first power on, still I have to restart it and then it appears with no issues... Kinda weird huh?
