Windows 7 wont install, have tried original dvd and even a USB stick

i woke up this morning woke up this morning and tried to wake my computer from sleep it crashed as sometimes it does and so i restarted comp only to get a BSOD, which continued to happen every time i rebooted i assumed that it was just time to do a clean wipe which ive not done in years so i bit the bullet. when trying the dvd install it crashes at 13% while trying to expand files after a few tries i thought it may be the dvd which is in perfect condition with not a single scratch and made a bootable usb stick took a while to sort but now im running in to a problem where it can find the drivers to install windows any help would be appreciated ive never had a reinstall like it

could be hardware issue. ram or hdd

how many sticks of ram are you using as that crash at 13% I've found to mostly be bad ram?

hey there, im starting to think ram myself as i have 2 ssds which i have tried to do the windows install on to and both have failed at same point, im using 2 sticks of DDR4 8Gb each

try using 1 stick at a time & use that stick in each slot to see if bad ram or bad ram slot.

hey there ffg7, cheers for your reply ... tried that both slots and both sticks of ram 1 at a time... fails in same spot still im hoping that means its the ram gone as changing the MB is such a pain.

another possibility is a bad dvd drive so do you have another 1 or can borrow 1 for testing purposes?

Yeah that was the first thing i was able to work out wasnt the problem i have 2 bluray drives tried install from both twice before trying the USB stick install option, its been some hard work trying different things as ram isnt something that ive ever had a problem with ever before, ive ordered some new ram sticks and will be able to try them tomorrow if its not them only thing i could think would be the motherboard slots ... and im praying its not that

I would have borrowed a stick from a friend if possible before buying new sticks for just in case not a ram stick problem. I presume not a laptop but a desktop?

Oh believe me i asked but no one i know has a computer like mine everyone else has stuck with sandybridge .... those wise people

well thanks for all your comments about it being the ram, ive just ran memtest v7.1 which supportsddr4 and im 78% through and have 148000 errors so far .... im pretty sure that means this rams a little broke

.... 4 months old and broke already not the best of adverts for corsair... will be doing RMA tomorrow ..
